Responsibilities
iOS and web product design (UX & visual), project management, branding, user testing
FleetWit
FleetWit is a trivia app where users can use what they know to make money. Users can play 1v1 against friends or random opponents, try to solve “Genius Questions", or play in live events against thousands of others at the same time. There are over 100 different categories including sports, history, movies, and science.
Design Details
The primary goal was to create a fun, easy to use app. The user is not only traditional trivia fans, but also movie buffs, sports gurus, historians, and anyone with a deep knowledge and love for any subject. Another subset of users were those interested in wagering and winning money. This unique userbase was a fun challenge to conduct research with and recruit for.
Logic & Planning
The gameplay logic could pretty complicated. Various factors added complexity, including:
Sending challenges to other users
New users had to sign up
Sending & accepting challenges
Some games were available only to new users
Challenges expired after a set amount of time
Users had to pay for a challenge
Wins
During my time at FleetWit, the iOS app went from beta testing to launching in the App Store and eventually got into the top 10 list of Puzzle Games.
Where is it now?
Shortly after I left, the founders decided to go in a new direction and shuttered FleetWit.
